|
When you have sorted out the physical causes of accidents, the hardware, and even after you have put good procedures and systems in place, there remains one major barrier to good EHS performance. The attitude and behaviour of your workforce will define whether any of the changes you want to make will really stick. It starts at the top, and the influence will work rapidly if people believe that you are really serious. Senior Management must be really committed; it's a two way street, and you have to listen too. It's the hardest challenge in EHS Management, but the most worthwhile, and the benefits acrue across the full range of business performance.
